What does Connection Status Mean?
What you see | What does it means |
|---|---|
Green or blue bars with a data rate | Connected and receiving prices |
No connection | The platform cannot reach the trading server |
Invalid account | The account number, password or server does not match |
Steps to Fix the Connection
- Check your internet connection. Open a website in a browser. If nothing loads, the problem is your connection.
- Click the connection status indicator. Selecting it prompts the platform to reconnect.
- Re-select the server. Select File → Login to Trade Account, confirm the account number and server, and log in again.
- Switch networks. Change from Wi-Fi to mobile data or the reverse. Corporate, school, hotel and public networks often block the ports the platform uses.
- Restart the platform. Close it completely and reopen.
- Restart your device.
- Check your firewall and antivirus. Add MT4/MT5 to the allowed applications list. Security software commonly blocks the connection after an update.
- Turn off any VPN or proxy and try again.
- Reinstall the platform from our Official Website https://www.ultimamarkets.trade. Reinstalling does not affect your account, balance or open positions.
Expected Outcome
Troubleshooting
- "Invalid account" rather than "No connection": This is a login problem. The account number, password or server does not match. See "How to Find or Add Your Trading Server in MT4/MT5".
- The connection drops repeatedly: Usually an unstable network. Try a wired connection before assuming a platform fault.
- It works on your phone but not your computer: A firewall or security program on the computer is the likely cause.
- You have an urgent open position: Contact us through live chat immediately and say you have a position you cannot close.
