What Is Rollover?
Rollover is the process of moving the underlying futures contract from the expiring contract to the next available contract.
Because the two futures contracts may have different prices, a cash adjustment may be applied to your CFD position to reflect the price difference between the two contracts.
The adjustment can be a debit or a credit, depending on the price difference between the expiring and next contracts.
Which Products Are Affected?
Rollover applies to eligible CFDs based on futures contracts with expiry dates.
Depending on the underlying futures contract, rollover may occur monthly, quarterly, or according to its applicable expiry schedule.
When Does Rollover Occur?
Rollover dates vary by product and depend on the expiry schedule of the underlying futures contract.
We will notify clients by email and publish the relevant rollover information on our official website before the rollover. Please check the latest rollover notification for the product you are trading here: https://www.ultimamarkets.trade/announcement/cfd-rollover/
What Is the Rollover Adjustment?
The rollover adjustment reflects the price difference between the expiring and next futures contracts.
The adjustment may be:
A debit, if the applicable price difference results in a charge
A credit, if the applicable price difference results in a credit
The final adjustment is determined after the relevant rollover period and may vary from one rollover to another.
The adjustment appears separately in your trading account history or statement and may be shown as:
Cash Adj – Rollover
The rollover adjustment is separate from your normal trading profit or loss.
What Should You Do?
Before trading a futures-based CFD, check the latest rollover notification for the applicable rollover date.
If you do not want your position to be rolled over, you can close it before the applicable rollover date.
Important to Know
Rollover applies only to eligible futures-based CFDs.
The rollover adjustment can be a debit or a credit.
The adjustment is based on the price difference between the expiring and next futures contracts.
The final rollover amount can only be confirmed once the relevant end-of-day price is available.
Rollover is separate from swap/overnight financing, which may also apply when a position is held overnight.
