Swap rates are published on the platform for each product, separately for buy and sell positions. Check the product's specification before opening a position you intend to hold overnight.
How to Check the Rate on MT4/MT5 Desktop
Open Market Watch. If it is not visible, select View → Market Watch.
Right-click the product and select Specification.
Find Swap long and Swap short. These show the applicable swap rates for buy and sell positions.
Check Swap type to see how the swap rate is calculated, and 3-day swap to see which day the multiplied swap is applied.
How to Check the Rate on the Mobile App
Open the app and go to Quotes.
Tap the product, then tap Details or Properties.
Scroll to Swap long and Swap short.
How to Check Swap Already Charged or Credited
Open the Account History tab at the bottom of the terminal.
Right-click and select the date range you want.
Check the Swap column to see the amount charged or credited for each position.
If the Swap column is not visible, right-click the column headers and enable it.
How to Read the Swap Rates
Rates are quoted in points, not in your account currency. A rate of −5 means five points of swap per lot per night, converted to your account currency when charged.
Swap long applies to buy positions, while Swap short applies to sell positions.
A negative swap rate generally represents a charge, while a positive swap rate generally represents a credit.
Swap rates may change. Always check the latest rates before holding a position overnight.
Troubleshooting
The Specification window shows no swap values: The product may not incur swap, or your account may be swap-free.
The charge does not match the published rate: The rate may have changed since you checked, currency conversion may apply, or the charge may be a multiplied weekend charge. See "Why Was I Charged Triple Swap?".
The Swap column is empty on a closed position: The position may not have incurred an overnight swap, such as when it was opened and closed within the applicable trading day.
