Withdrawals are generally processed using the same payment method used for your original deposit to comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements.
If you deposited using a credit card, the original deposited amount (principal amount) must first be returned to the same credit card before you can withdraw additional funds using another eligible withdrawal method.
Withdrawal Method Requirements
- Withdrawals are generally processed using the same payment method used for the original deposit.
- If you deposited using a credit card, the credit card withdrawal is prioritized until the full principal amount has been returned.
- Once the principal amount has been fully returned to the credit card, you may use another eligible withdrawal method for additional available funds.
- Some withdrawal methods, such as Cryptocurrency, may require a previous deposit using that method before they can be used as a secondary withdrawal method.
- IB rebate accounts are not subject to the same withdrawal-method restrictions.
What Is the Principal Amount for a Credit Card Deposit?
The principal amount is the amount originally deposited using your credit card.
Your credit card withdrawal amount can be equal to or less than the original credit card deposit amount. You can withdraw the principal amount in one transaction or multiple transactions.
Example: Full Principal Withdrawal
If you deposited USD 100 using a credit card:
- Principal amount: USD 100
- Credit card withdrawal: USD 100
- Remaining principal amount: USD 0
Example: Multiple Principal Withdrawals
The USD 100 principal amount can be withdrawn in multiple transactions:
- First withdrawal: USD 50
- Second withdrawal: USD 50
- Total credit card withdrawal: USD 100
Once the full USD 100 principal amount has been returned to the credit card, you may use another eligible withdrawal method.
Can I Withdraw My Profit Using Another Method?
Yes. If your account balance exceeds your original credit card deposit, the amount above the principal amount may be withdrawn using another eligible withdrawal method.
For example:
- Credit card deposit: USD 100
- Profit: USD 200
- Total account funds: USD 300
- Credit card withdrawal: USD 100
- Withdrawal using another eligible method: USD 200
The secondary withdrawal method must be available for your account and may have its own eligibility requirements.
